BIG NEWS

DOESN'T HE LOOK THRILLED?

We are having a baby. It still doesn't seem real. We are so excited though! I don't think Zack quite understands the concept yet but I think he will be a great big brother. This time around has been 100% better than with Zack. I was really sick with Zack for about 3 months, this time I really have only felt bad in the evenings, which has been a huge blessing because I am working full time and have a 2 YEAR OLD to deal with this go round. I am due April 18th and we will find out the sex of the baby in 3 weeks.

According to Zack

This morning about his shoes: Mommy, just socks! I don't want to wear shoes, I'm too strong!

About his shirt that is a tad too big: Mommy, i'm too big for this shirt.

Concerning the cat pushing his door open this morning: Me: Did the kitty wake you up?
Zack: Yeah the kitty waked me up AGAIN! Me: That is a crazy cat. Zack: No the kitty isn't crazy, she's funny.

Yesterday morning: My mom was trying to tell Zack goodbye for the day, sometimes he is very loving but most of the time he might as well be spitting and scratching you when it comes to affection. He was growling and whining at Grandma, not a very happy camper. We drive the 3 streets to his babysitter. He runs into the house and exclaims "Hey guys! Look at my Niners shirt! Hey look at my niners shirt!" No one cares. Can you say Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

An ordinary morning, not wanting to go to daycare: "No mommy, don't go to work, you don't have to."

Last night at dinner: Zack threw his fork on the ground for the dog to fetch. I told him not to throw things. Seconds later GRANDPA throws a wad of tin foil at him. Zack says: "Grandpa, we don't throw things." Seconds later Zack throws a grape across the table.

About the present left on the porch from the potty king (potty training failure blog to come):
Zack: It's a present! Me: Who do you think it's for? Zack: Anabella!
My mom said, at least he is thinking of others! Anabella is his cousin who's birthday we celebrated the next day.

Me hitting the brakes a little hard in the neighborhood this morning: Zack: oopsie daisy

Surprise!

We had a surprise party for Kevin last night. I know it's shocking that I am already posting it, Rita, Curt and Jeff this is for you!!!

Kevin, my dad and brother Matt were out getting mulch from the dump and went to our house to take out our kitchen sink and Zack's ceiling fan, on the way home my dad said he forgot he needed to pick up some membership records from the church so they stopped there and we all happened to be there! We had a great time eating donuts, chocolate milk, playing ball and just enjoying being together with such great friends and family. We are so blessed that many of our closest friends are also related. Anyone who couldn't come, WE MISSED YOU!

Our 2 year old

This is something I wrote back in April so it's really outdated. I guess i'll post it so I can remember some of these things!

So it's been a while, there isn't a whole lot going on here.... ha ha

We moved in with my parents this past weekend. Things here are cozy but it has been fun and there is always someone for Zack to follow around (mainly my little brother Matt) We are so grateful to my parents for helping us out at this time and we really are happy to be here. Even though we miss our friends and old ward terribly!

Zack will be turning 2 in a week and a half. Can't believe this little big boy was so teeny when he came to this earth!

Some things about Zack lately:

*He has picked up a few new phrases, I can't and I didn't. The other night I asked him if we should go get him ready for bed and he told me "I can't", a few days ago I asked him if he wanted macaroni for lunch and he said "no, I didn't"

*He is loving his big boy bed here at Grandma's house. He sleeps in it better than his crib (always been a good sleeper). He knows how to climb into it with a step stool but hasn't dared climb out of it yet. YES!

*Zack can count to 11 and knows his ABC's and all his colors. He is a smart little thing and when he decides he likes something he embraces it to the fullest extent!

*His favorite show to watch right now is Cars, it's the only movie that he will sit through the entire thing.

*As far as toys go anything with a motor and wheels he is fascinated with. His latest obsession is Backhoes, Bulldozers, Trains, and of course cars. They are building a fire station by our church in Herriman and we went quite often to see the backhoes and bulldozers. He didn't like to touch them but he loves looking and talks about how big they are.

*You wouldn't know it but this thick little boy is so picky about food! His diet pretty much consists of Juice, most fruit, chicken nuggets, yogurt and macaroni & cheese.

*A few weeks ago Zack saw his cousin going potty on the toilet and was really interested in it so I decided to try out potty training. He did really well the first day and each time he "went" we put a sticker on the potty, he would also get a jelly bean. A few days later he started telling me "no potty, no stickers, no candy" and now it's "I can't". I know it's a little early still so we will try again in a few months.

*Zack is still very mild mannered but has a lot of energy.

*The other day after church I picked him up and he grabbed a paper that I was holding and said "oh my gosh!". This boy is hilarious!

*He has figured out that everyone is watching him and knows how to put on a good show. Whether it be physical stunts or saying funny things.

Sunshine

What a beautiful day yesterday!
These pictures prove that my baby is no longer a baby. Cookies on his face, shoes untied, playing with his trucks without a care in the world. I wish every day could be like this one!

Just in case you were missing this little man...

Another one I wrote back in March and never posted.... I know I would miss him if I didn't see him everyday!

Zack has been saying the funniest things lately, here are a few:

On Sunday we went to see the backhoe that has been parked by our church. That evening I told Zack we would take his car outside tomorrow and drive it. The first thing he said the next morning before I even got him out of bed was "Car want go outside, car want see backhoe by church". It cracked me up! I couldn't believe that he remembered either of those conversations!

This morning he was in the tub and I was getting ready for the day. I turned my straightner on and it makes a beep when it's hot. He heard the beep and said "What noise?" It caught me off guard so I asked what? He said "noise?" Then I figured out that he meant the straightner. It's really funny to think that we are actually communicating now! He really understands what I am saying and I understand what he is saying!

He likes to call Kevin "Honey". Tonight I was getting him ready for bed and I asked if we should say prayers. We usually both get him ready and put him to bed but tonight it was just me. So he said to me "Honey prayers" so I went and got Kevin and we said prayers. I was just surprised that he recognized that it's always the 3 of us and there was someone missing.

He is also getting really good at telling me no. The other morning I was changing him after he woke up and I said "oh baby has cold legs" and he said to me "no baby cold legs" so I said "are you a big boy" and he said yes. Or he will say "no nap" all of the sudden. This is the child that has begged me for the last 2 years every nap time and every bed time to put him to bed!

I love the snow
Snow is peaceful,
today I feel PEACE!

I also love chubby little boys that are obsessed with snow shovels.
And actually he is a good little shoveler for not even being two!

4 1/2 days til we go
to the happiest place on earth!
