Party Party Party

I was just thinking I should email Grandma Rita with some pictures from Ruby's b-day in case
I don't blog again for a while. Then I realized that if I just blog it would be about the same
amount of work. So here you go Grandma and Grandpa!

Money and a teeny tiny purse from Grandma and Grandpa West.
Dang it, I didn't get a picture of the pops!
(She is still popping them at this very moment)

Birthday lunch, She wanted rainbow cupcakes, ice cream,
hot chocolate and broccoli soup.
We settled with a heart shaped turkey sandwich with plenty of pickles!

A rare good photo moment with Zack.
Curse his glaring glasses!

Texting her sister Reesie. She kept telling me to be
quiet because she needed to make a phone call.

 On to the birthday party!
I got a good deal on Jungle Jims passes and I think every one had a great time.
Especially Grandma Karen!

The swings were one of this girls favorites

Grandpa trying to touch hands

Proof that Zack was there. Debatable from the picture
whether he had a good time or not...

Fulfilling a life long dream of Grandpa's to ride in a
mini Jeep with Luke.
(By the way.... Dad you look 20 years younger in this pic!)

Look at this fun grandma!

I think Ruby's FAV ride, because it is the fastest. Emily was SOOO
nice to ride it with you!

It was hard to get a good picture of the carousel,
always a big hit for Ruby.

This is where things went wrong. This ride made her really dizzy and she rode it twice.
Bella brought Ruby over and Ruby told me she needed to throw up.
I thought maybe she was exaggerating but off to the bathroom we went.
It was almost comical to watch her try to throw up. I should have taken a picture.
They have this teeny tiny toilet and her is Ruby hugging that thing trying to throw up.
We visited once more but she never threw up. It sure upset her for about an hour or so.
We wont be doing THAT ride anymore!

A shocking smile.
Post hugging toilet.

Singing Happy Birthday, Grandpa trying to budge a smile out of her.

Apparently not a fan of presents. Whatsoever.

Look at these faces!

Doesn't get better than that!
She really wasn't feeling very well.

Finally got a good smile after she won some tickets
and bought herself a sucker

Highlight of the day.
(I must give credit where credit is due)
These skates are from Ruby's favorite aunt LEA.

She immediately took off by herself and only fell a few times.

She has skating blood on both sides of the fam

Zack raced along side. He wants skates SO bad. I'm trying to
convince him that roller blades might be a more appropriate choice
for someone his age. He tried Ruby's skates on but his shoes
wouldn't fit so he just wore socks. He had a pretty hard time.
Looks like I know what to get him for his bday.

Ruby loved racing up and down the street with Daddy on her skates.

Had a great day celebrating Ruby. She has so many people that love her and spoiled
her with fun presents today and yesterday. What a lucky girl!

Ruby the ridin cowgirl turns 3

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Facts about this 3 year old:
Fav foods: Almost anything, especially PICKLES, broccoli cheese soup, chocolate, tomatoes,
olives, and macaroni and cheese.

Fav movie: Toy Story 1, 2 and 3

Least fav thing to do: go to church and wear dresses

Fav thing to do: Eat, this girl would eat all day. I usually have to cut her off, and she always
wants whatever anyone else is eating.

Ruby is sweet most of the time and generally very obedient.
She is very mischievous.

Ruby loves to ride her bike and scooter and is looking forward to a fabulous summer
of swimming and riding bikes.

She adores her brother and has become the best playmate. She loves to play
ninjas, batman and anything else Zack comes up with.

She hates to have her hair done, esp when I use the hair dryer.

Her favorite thing to do with Daddy is "up again" where Daddy will throw her up in the air. She said one day in a really pouty voice "I want to fly in the sky like a bird." (insert frowny face)
Ruby also loves to swing and swing high!

She also LOVES to be tickled!

She can recognize most of her ABC's, im sure she will love preschool this fall if I can get her
to not be so anxious with new places. She also can count to 20.

Ruby gets very nervous in new places, even the Children's Museum! It usually takes
her an hour or so to warm up and get comfortable enough to play.
This is also the case in nursery. They tell me she doesn't usually warm up until
snack time. Go figure. The way to this girls heart is FOOD.

Ruby has tons of stuffed animals just like Zack. Most of them are kitties and horses. Each of them has a unique name: Chocolate Milk (horse), Pickles (cat), Olives (cat), Clyde (horse), and Bullseye (unicorn) just to name a few.

Our cat and dog are subject to Ruby's torture all day long. I will find her very often on my sisters
bed with the cat, napping, or petting her head. When they cant be found on the
bed you can usually find both of them under the couch. The dog on the other hand is always being locked
in bedrooms or put on a leash and walked around the house.

Ruby is my snugly one, she doesn't usually take naps these days (even though she needs them).
She will nap with me on my bed though.

Ruby loves to say her prayers and tell us her smiles
and gratefuls every night. Im always amazed at what she comes up with.
One night she prayed that Mommy and Daddy can be nice and that she can
have a honey sandwich tomorrow.
Her smile the other day was eating lunch with Daddy.
(smiles and gratefuls are a tradition we started about a year ago where we talk each night
about something that made us smile throughout the day and something we are
particularly grateful for that day.)

Bad Cell Phone Pictures- A year in review

I stumbled upon some old gems last week as I was looking through my cell phone.
I am def going to use that sucker more often. While I love taking pictures, I hate
hauling my camera all around, my cell phone camera isn't the greatest but it was fun to look
back at some of these memories that I don't have good pictures of.
ENJOY!

 CHAPTER 1: Everyday life

All my loves

A rare glimpse of Zack doing chores

My mom crocheted this darling swim suit cover up for Ruby last summer.
Of course it's white so she's not allowed to wear it :)

Love this pic of my pretty girl.
Missing her cute long hair too.

Great day swimming with cousins!

Exhausted after swimming with cousins.

A rare treat at Arctic Circle

Funny girl sitting with her kitty

I froze some toys in big buckets last summer.
Ruby found a bimky in hers. Trying desperately to get it out!

 Water balloon fight!

Partier

Pro tricycle rider! Im amazed how fast she learned to ride her bike.

Fun with friends in Park City. This is only one of many many tales that weekend!

Always nice to get a smile from this guy

Zack and his friend playing tug of war with my dad.

CHAPTER 2: BEES

We had several bee casualties this year.
I don't think we've ever had so many problems.

My Dad likes to call this BEE-TOX because it makes his wrinkles go away.

Kevin was stung behind the ear, look closely in this picture,
one ear is sticking out way more than the other.

Zack and my Dad were both stung on the same eye in the same weekend!

CHAPTER 3:

Flowers for Grandpa

Our favorite summer treat!

Ruby is a big eater!

She gets it from her Dad.

One last play day before Ruby's surgery

Trip to the pool as well.

Saw this beauty one night.

Breakfast of choice, grape tomatoes.
This girl can't wait for summer again!

Cute thing looking pretty with her transformers book.

MMMM Chocolate!

Zack's Thanksgiving feast at school. Grandpa was lucky enough
to come with us. Zack was more than thrilled!

What a great memory for him.

Sad sad little thing

Nasty ants took over the kitchen floor of our home in Herriman
after being vacant for so long. The entire kitchen floor was covered!

Zack SO excited to go to Denver for Christmas.

Zack, Miles and Ruby ready to bounce for Miles birthday in December

Always lookin like a rockstar.

This is the face of a girl that goes to bed at 10, wakes up at 4
and wont take a nap anymore. I think this is the day
that she woke up with a bloody nose too.

At the end of our circle the plows push all the snow into a pile.
The kids call it their kingdom. We spent many days out there
exploring. Ruby even took off her boots one day and stomped
around in the freezing cold water.

Last 49ers game

Our snowman grew real boy arms!

Ruby and Bernie sleepover in the kitchen

I found with Zack that sometimes communicating
by writing is much easier.

Oh this little stinker!
