Once again I'm way behind and playing catch up. Hopefully I can remember everything.
For Father's Day this year I wanted to do something special. Kevin has been going to school and he doesn't get much down time, let alone much time to spend with us. So I some what secretly reserved a hotel for us up in Park City for Father's Day weekend. He knew I was buying something and probably figured it out when he saw the expedia charge, but other than that he didn't know where or how we were going. He actually thought I had rented a limo. (sorry babe, those days are over)
Friday came, Daddy got off work and I had our bags all packed. He thought we were leaving him for a minute. We told him where we were going and headed off. We had a quick dinner at Chili's before going up to Park City so we could have some pool time when we got there.
The kids were in heaven.
Afterword we went to the grocery store for some treats to take back to the hotel. Our plan was to put the kids to bed and watch a movie. I got a migraine though and we went to bed with the kids.
I don't think we've EVER done that. Kevin and I are both night owls.
Next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and headed up to the alpine slide.
The kids were so excited. Ruby had never done it before but she is fearless so I knew she would be fine.
Cute girl all ready to go
Nice relaxing ride up the mountain.
Not really, Ruby was squirming and excited. I was so worried she was going to fall out.
But we made it up, without incident....
Until moments after this adorable picture.Thank you Zackery for cooperating.
As we were walking with our sleds Ruby tripped on her new sandals and face planted into the asphalt.
She was bleeding everywhere and howling and we had NOTHING. Not a wipe, no bandaid, no binky or blanket to pacify her. NOTHING. Kevin ran to the tram operator and they found a bandaid and some gauze. We sat there for about 15 minutes while she screamed. Making everyone ruining every one else's relaxing tram ride. She finally calmed down and we were able to move on to the slide line.
I don't know what we would have done if it was worse, and it was pretty deep. We probably would have had to just jump on the slide with her bleeding and screaming because it was the fastest way down.
She ended up loving it and we almost hit a pot gut or something that was chilling on the track right in front of us. Sorry no pic of Kevin and Zack as they went before us and had the camera.
After this we found a park so the kids could play and get some energy out.
All Ruby wanted to do was swing.
Zack enjoyed playing spider man
I was supposed to show this picture to Grandpa so he could see how high Zack is.
After the park we hit the Outlets and then headed home. It was so nice to spend some quality time as a family. We decided maybe we would make this little trip a yearly tradition.
Zack's favorite thing lately is to match what his dad is wearing. The most affordable way to do that is with ties. This time we went a step further and got Grandpa one too. (The only way I can get Zack to smile these days is to let him do goofy faces, hence the open mouths.)
Later that day we had the whole family over.
The boys had a blast playing in the pool.
Eaton cousins, minus Malia
